Ways To Grow

Career Building At Worthington

We believe that people thrive when they’re recognized and given opportunities to grow. Worthington Industries actively invests in our people through career building and employee development programs to power their progress.

Internship Program

Our 12-week summer internship program builds personal and professional skills by providing an experience to students outside of the classroom. This project-based program helps students tie educational experiences to the business world. In keeping alignment with Our Philosophy, the program provides community involvement and networking opportunities. Based on performance, we utilize this as a pipeline for identifying potential future employees. Each year we recruit and hire students from a wide variety of colleges, universities, and majors.

Rotation Experience And Development Program

At Worthington, we’re more focused than ever on recruiting top talent and developing employees to prepare for the future. One way we’re doing that is through the Worthington Industries Rotation Experience and Development program or WIRED. WIRED is a rotational program where employees spend time working in operations, commercial, supply chain and support functions. It’s a great way to accelerate your career and gain broad exposure to the Company.

Operations Leadership Development Program

Do you desire to be a leader in manufacturing? Our Operations Leadership Development Program can give you the skills you need to reach your ultimate career goals. This program provides trainees the opportunity to rotate through various departments within our facilities, taking on new roles to further develop critical leadership skills. Upon completion of the program, trainees will be prepared to transition into a leadership role, or equivalent, at one of our many locations.

Military Skillbridge

Worthington Industries is proud to partner with the U.S. Department of Defense-certified Skillbridge Program, connecting transitioning service members to skills training and career opportunities. This program is hosted at several Worthington locations with a focus on those interested in skilled trade and operation leadership roles. Participants spend their last 180 days of service with us, learning about the business, key processes and various roles within the facility while following a dedicated training plan and being mentored by some of our seasoned employees. Click here to view the Worthington Industries DoD Skillbridge opportunities.
