50th Anniversary

What can a company accomplish in 50 years?

At Worthington Industries, we've invented new industries, new processes, new products. We've pioneered programs that lead to one of the best employee-employer relationships in business. We've become publicly owned and moved from the NASDAQ to the NYSE. We've gone from a $600 profit on our first order to nearly a $2.6 billion company. We've grown from a single building to 65 facilities in 11 countries and from one man with an idea and a loan against his car to 6,300 employees who supply the steel that's built millions of cars, appliances, golf clubs, scuba tanks, homes and even the Pentagon.

Throughout this journey, one thing has remained the same. Our company's philosophy, based on the Golden Rule is at the heart of everything we do. Whether we're developing a new process to help a customer, or finding a way to keep healthcare costs down for our employees, we are focused on doing the right thing. It's what great companies do and it's what made us what we are today. A company that puts steel to work and keeps people at heart.
